Win-Situ Mobile Software

Win-Situ® Mobile software is used with the RuggedReader® handheld PC. A license is required. It supports all Level TROLL®, Aqua TROLL®, and Baro TROLL® models.

    Using Win-Situ® Software Manager for Downloading and Installing Win-Situ Mobile

    1. Click the link to Win-Situ Software Manager, Win-Situ® Mobile, Pocket-Situ 4 or TDG Software, enter your email address, and the "Win-Situ Software Manager" utility download will start automatically.
    2. If using a RuggedReader®, connect the RuggedReader to the PC (if using Microsoft® Vista, the driver will load automatically; if using Windows® XP or earlier, Microsoft® ActiveSync® 4.2 or greater must be installed)

    3. Run the "Win-Situ Software Manager" utility. You can find it from the Start menu > Programs > In- Situ® Inc folder.

    4. The "Win-Situ Software Manager" utility "Available Software" list displays the available and current versions of the PC and handheld software and the status of each as well as whether there is a newer version available on the web.

      • To download software for the PC or RuggedReader, select the software to download from the list and click the Download button (please note that the left-most button on the main window is both the Download and Install button; the text will change accordingly). The selected software installation package will be downloaded to the PC and the software Status will change from "On Web" to "Not Installed".
      • To install software to the PC or RuggedReader, select the software to install and click the Install button. The selected software will be installed to the PC or RuggedReader and the software status will change from "Not Installed" to "Up-To-Date".

    5. The "Available Firmware" list displays the available and current versions of the Level TROLL and Aqua TROLL device firmware and the status of each as well as whether there is a newer version available on the web.

      • To download firmware for a Level TROLL or Aqua TROLL device, select the firmware to download from the list and click the Download button. The selected firmware will be downloaded to the PC and the firmware Status will change from "On Web" to "Not Installed".
      • To install firmware to the Win-Situ 5 and/or Win-Situ Mobile, select the firmware to add and click the Install button. The selected firmware will be copied to the Win-Situ 5 Firmware folder on the PC and/ or the Win-Situ Mobile Firmware folder on the RuggedReader and the firmware Status will change from "Not Installed" to "Up-To-Date". Use Win-Situ 5 or Win-Situ Mobile to install the firmware on the device.

    6. To check for newer versions of PC/RuggedReader software or device firmware, click the Check Web button. If there is a new version of an application or firmware, the Status of the particular application or firmware will change to "On Web".
