Recirc/Hatchery

Water Quality Critical for Reuse Systems

Several types of reuse systems are used in the aquaculture industry including partial reuse aquaculture systems (PRAS), recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), flow-through systems, and hatcheries. These intensive aquaculture production systems can reduce pollution, water use, and disease.

Due to the closed or partially closed nature of these systems, optimized water quality is critical to maintaining fish health. Fish respiration and bacterial consumption of wastes deplete dissolved oxygen (DO). Monitoring systems are important components of reuse systems. Both real-time measurements and trending of key water quality parameters provide operators with information needed to maintain optimum conditions for fish health and growth.

In-Situ® Aquaculture offers the following solutions:

RAS, PRAS, recirculating aquaculture, partial reuse aquaculture, dissolved oxygen, RDO, rugged dissolved oxygen, RDO PRO Probe, PR Aqua, optical technology
