Groundwater management and protection programs rely on long-term, systematic measurement of groundwater levels. In-Situ® Level TROLL® instruments and Aqua TROLL® 200 instruments are used to accurately measure water level. Data is used in a variety of ways.
Long-Term Monitoring
Track changes over time; develop groundwater models and forecasting tools; and determine water influences and usages for residential planning, water rate billing, seasonal water demand, and more.
Aquifer Storage & Recovery
Monitor long-term water level and conductivity during cycles of injection, storage, and retieval with the Aqua TROLL 200 instrument.
Groundwater/Surface Water Interactions
Measure submarine groundwater discharge into surface water or infiltration of surface water contamination into groundwater aquifers.
"Real-time monitoring helps the ethanol plant stay in compliance and keeps groundwater pumps operating at optimal efficiency. By managing the drawdown and reducing the lift required to pump water, the plant will save over $20,000 annually in electrical costs." – John E. Dustman, President of Summit Envirosolutions, Inc.
Stormwater Monitoring
Collect data on amount and rate of stormwater runoff to assess recharge rate into groundwater aquifers and to monitor the impact of groundwater/surface water interaction.
Landfill Monitoring
Measure groundwater levels to determine the highest measured groundwater levels and rainfall/recharge relationships. Data is used to assess the feasibility of expanding existing landfill sites and to develop site-specific design requirements.
